2 or 3-Day Open Water Scuba Course

The Open Water Diver is an entry level scuba certification. The course presents the basic skills the student needs to begin diving safely with a buddy or a group. The course consists of classroom training, material review, pool training sessions, and four open water dives. All course learning materials, rental gear, instructor fees, and open water dives included. The course is two full days long and includes evening classroom time. Course requires home study of course materials in advance of class.

Open Water Scuba Referral Course

This course is for student divers who have completed their workbook/classroom training, pool training, and are referred by an instructor to complete their open water dives with Garden Cove Divers. This course is two days long and includes four open water dives, and rental gear.

2-Day Advanced Open Water Scuba Course

The Advanced Open Water Diver builds upon the basic skills learned in the Open Water Diver course and further expands the divers skills, confidence, and abilities. The course includes five dives including a deep dive and a navigation dive and wreck dive. For the other two dives the diver may choose from several alternatives such as peak performance buoyancy, search & recovery, and others.

4 Hour Nitrox / Enriched Air Scuba Course

New changes in the PADI curriculum have dropped the requirement for a dive in order to complete your Nitrox course. Minimum prerequisite is qualification as an Open Water Diver or above. Classroom training followed by successful course review is all that’s required to add the Nitrox Diver certification. We offer the course in only one half day for a special low price.

Price:  $100 + $55 manual and materials

Refresher Course

This one-day scuba review course starts out in the pool for the morning session and finishes with an afternoon two-dive boat trip with a divemaster or instructor. Price includes instructor fee, pool session, two-location boat trip with tanks and weights, and course workbook.

Half-Day Course, Pool Only:              $75

Full-Day Course with Boat Trip:        $175

Instruction Policy

All Garden Cove Divers dive training is in accordance with PADI certification standards.

A $100 deposit on training fees is due at time of reservation. Course materials will be mailed for home study for the Open Water and Advanced Open Water certification courses. Prior study/review of these materials is required for successful completion of the course in the allotted time.

Refunds/Cancellation: Cancellations received at least 72 hours prior to the start of the course will be refunded the entire deposit minus the cost of the mailed course materials.

Open Water Scuba Classes begin promptly at 08:30 am on first day.

Advanced Openwater dive check-in time 08:00 am.

Price for courses include the open water dives required for completion of that course. When weather and conditions permit, the dives will be from our dive boat or a contracted dive boat. When foul weather dictates, in the opinion of GCD management, the open water dives will be conducted at the Jules Underwater Lodge training facility.
